Helping communication across social workers and healthcare providers in real time by allowing the frontline to share updates, resources, and trends. This is part of the Can't Stop Columbus Project.
Communication across social workers and healthcare providers in real time is limited. There are also communication challenges between different hospital systems and sometimes within the hospitals themselves. Different groups such as social workers, doctors, nurses, etc do not have easy ways to share information that is not related to patients with each other quickly.
An instant messaging platform preconfigured with topics important to providers and methods for those on the front line to share updates on what they are seeing would be very valuable. While they wouldn't be able to use, disclose, transmit or process any sensitive PHI information, a tool to share resources, trends on the frontline and building a community of encouragement would be appreciated. We utilize a messaging service called Mattermost.
Mattermost is an open source messaging platform that enables secure collaboration. It allows for organized conversations in channels and has a fully searchable message history, 1-on-1 and group messaging, video, and screen sharing as well as file, image, and link sharing. We have pre populated topic channels important to social workers and healthcare providers as well as channels devoted to roles in both fields.
